Building Better Money Habits Through Monthly Budgeting

Most people don't fail at budgeting because they lack discipline. They fail because they're using systems designed for someone else's life. Our approach starts with your actual spending patterns and helps you create a budget that fits your reality—not an ideal you'll never meet.

How We Got Here

1
2018

Started as weekend workshops in Bunbury, teaching 12 people at a time the basics of tracking monthly expenses. We realized early that spreadsheets intimidate more people than they help.

2
2020

Moved programs online during lockdowns and discovered something unexpected—people were more honest about their spending habits in virtual sessions than face-to-face. This changed how we structure our curriculum.

3
2022

Launched our structured six-month program after noticing participants needed ongoing support beyond initial training. Financial habits take time to build, and three-hour workshops weren't enough.

4
2024

Expanded to serve over 400 participants across Western Australia. Developed specialized modules for families, freelancers, and those managing irregular income streams.

5
2025

Currently preparing our autumn intake starting September 2025. We're adding new content around subscription management and digital spending patterns based on participant feedback.

What Makes This Different

Start With Reality

We don't begin with ideal budget categories. First month is spent just tracking what you actually spend. No judgment, no restrictions. You can't fix what you don't understand, and most people genuinely don't know where their money goes.

Build Systems, Not Willpower

Relying on discipline alone doesn't work long-term. We help you create automatic systems—designated accounts, scheduled transfers, automated savings—that make the right financial choices the easiest choices.

Monthly Check-Ins

Our programs include regular review sessions because budgets aren't set-and-forget documents. Life changes, expenses shift, income fluctuates. We help you adapt your budget as your circumstances evolve throughout the year.

Community Learning

Small cohorts mean you're learning alongside others facing similar challenges. Sometimes hearing how someone else solved their grocery overspending problem is more valuable than any textbook advice.

Real Progress Takes Time

We don't promise overnight transformations or dramatic results. Building sustainable financial habits is gradual work. But participants who stick with the full program consistently report meaningful improvements in how they manage monthly expenses.

What Participants Experience

Corinne Whitley program participant

I'd tried budgeting apps before but never stuck with them past February. What helped here was learning that my budget didn't need to be perfect—it just needed to be honest. Took about three months before tracking expenses became automatic rather than a chore I dreaded.
